We are a new life story and reminiscence platform used within the care sector.

Our platform is the first of its kind and will provide users with the ability to store memories, media and life events in a user archive with fully customisable privacy. Storii allows people to connect with family, friends and carers through an innovative and easy to use cross-platform interface.

StoriiCare Activity Therapist

Job Description

You will work closely with our newly on-boarded clients to train their staff in effective usage of the StoriiCare platform and various therapies it supports, such as Reminiscence Therapy and Life Story work.

You will run therapy sessions with care recipients in specific organisations and communicate back any difficulties or problems clients have when using the platform.


Responsibilities

  • Develop programmes for individual and group reminiscence therapy, music therapy and life story work
  • Promote engaging sessions by selecting and constructing sessions according to individual's physical capacity, intelligence level, and interest
  • Run StoriiCare sessions within client homes daily
  • Develop and share best practices with team members to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of our overall support of customers

Experience/Skills

  • Computer literacy (use of iPads will be an everyday occurrence)
  • Experience working with people in care or with dementia
  • Preferably a past staff member of a care home
  • The ability to think outside the box and work under pressure
  • Enthusiasm, sensitivity and patience to deal with care recipients with a range of needs
  • A strong desire to help people

Details

You will be working in Scotland, mainly around Glasgow and Edinburgh and will be required to travel.

You will need to have a valid UK driving license.

You will be working for 35 hours per week. 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

As part of the recruitment process we will conduct various disclosure checks:

  • If you have a Valid PVG from Disclosure Scotland – required for work with protected adults under Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 then we will ask to see a PVG Scheme Record. If you don’t have a valid PVG, if the application progresses to that point, we will pay for one.
  • We will also conduct criminal records checks and checks on the children and adults barred lists from the Disclosure and Barring Service

Back End Developer

Job Description

Successful applicants will join the team of a fast moving start-up and will work in the back end team on the Storii platform, regularly working alongside team members in User Experience or Mobile Development.

The applicant will be developing a complex application to serve thousands of users. They will work on core functionality, supporting services, improving latency, testing and creation of API’s.

All code developed should be well structured, commented, maintainable and high quality, meeting the requirements of the project.

The applicant will make suggestions to proactively enhance security, performance and stability of the application.


Experience/Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Object Oriented programming experience
  • Experience working with frameworks and third party libraries
  • Knowledge of PHP (and basic python for some services)
  • Experience using AWS (or other cloud infrastructure)
  • Experience with Linux
  • Basic knowledge of web security
  • Exposure to third party API’s
  • Some experience with JavaScript and AJAX
  • Experience with unit testing applications
  • Experience with version control (git)
  • Good understanding of web services including experience creating a web services API.

As well as technical skills, the candidate should demonstrate the following:

Front End Developer

Job Description

Successful applicants will join the team of a fast moving start-up and will work in the Front-end team on the Storii platform, regularly working alongside team members in Back-end or Mobile Development.

The applicant will be working on a User Interface that will be exposed to thousands of users. They will work on creating views for new functionality, improving user experience of the platform, writing of client side scripts and hooking up with back end API’s

All code developed should be well structured, commented, maintainable and high quality, meeting the requirements of the project.

The applicant will make suggestions to proactively enhance security, performance and stability of the application.


Experience/Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong programming experience
  • Experience creating web UI’s, making use of HTML 5 and CSS 3
  • Experience with JavaScript (jQuery) and AJAX
  • Experience working with frameworks and third party libraries
  • Developing responsive UI’s that work across devices and screen sizes
  • Exposure to third party API’s
  • Experience with testing scripts and UI’s
  • Basic proficiency with Photoshop
  • Understanding of SASS
  • Experience with version control (git)
  • Good understanding of web accessibility
  • Good understanding of web services including experience creating a web services API.
  • Able to assist in user research & testing and distil findings into actionable design problems
  • Well versed in UX / UI best practices and conventions on Android, iOS, and web apps

Job Description

Successful applicants will join the team of a fast moving start-up and will work in the iOS team, regularly working alongside team members in User Experience or back end services.

The applicant will be developing a rich application for iOS that works on multiple screen sizes. They will implement standard UI components, create custom UI components and connect the application to back-end services.

All code developed should be well structured, commented, maintainable and high quality, meeting the requirements of the project.

The applicant will make suggestions to proactively enhance security, performance and stability of the application.


Experience/Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong Object Oriented programming experience
  • Experience developing with Swift (The app will be compatible with iOS8+)
  • Experience testing in iOS and XCode
  • Experience with asynchronous downloading and caching
  • Experience with Cocoa Touch
  • Understanding of manual memory management (retain/release) and experience with ARC
  • Experience with version control (git)
  • Good understanding of web services including experience integrating with a web services backend using JSON API’s

The applicant will be developing a rich application for Android that works on multiple devices and screen sizes. They will implement standard UI components, create custom UI components and connect the application to back-end services.

All code developed should be well structured, commented, maintainable and high quality, meeting the requirements of the project.

The applicant will make suggestions to proactively enhance security, performance and stability of the application.


Experience/Skills

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience developing with the Android SDK (API Level 16 compatible)
  • Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
  • Experience testing in Android (including unit testing)
